03.28.08 -- This is how a racing series promotes themselves. Powri has the their act together! Every PowrI race I have been two has been nothing but professional. The night goes quickly and the racing is top notch. There is no BS! USAC once again is getting left in the dust with there broken promises and nonsense. Lot's of talk and NO ACTION! USAC can't even update their website. If you were Chevy or Toyota or Pepsi...what series would you rather sponsor?

03.28.08 -- Not doing anything this Saturday night? Visit RaceNetwork.tv and watch LIVE PowrI Midget Racing from the indoor oval at Du Quoin, Illinois. You won't be disappointed! Watch 4 hours of LIVE midget racing on the web and in the comfort of your own living room for only $10.99. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Marty Boyer recovery fund. In case you have no idea what you are getting yourself into, below is a photo of the LIVE Western World coverage from Manzanita last November on RaceNetwork.tv!

03.23.08 -- In the spirit of Easter I thought I would share this with all of you. Thanks Terry

03.23.08 -- My landlord Casey Shuman earned his first career sprint car main event at his home track Manzanita Speedway on Saturday during ASCS action. He was driving for Rex Foster. A big thanks to Terry Shaw for the photos!.

03.19.08 -- Here is another episode of the World of Outlaws TV "Behind the Scenes." You are not going to find this s**t anywhere else on the web.

03.15.08 -- A lot of you are probably wondering if the the World of Outlaws are doing a television show this year. The answer to that question is yes. When will the shows air? Shooting begins in May. Make sure to check local listings for times, channel, and airdates. I will not be a part of the World of Outlaws broadcast this year. The powers that be have decided to "go another direction." I want to thank Brian Dunlap, Chris Dolack,Tony Veneziano, Rob Butcher, Tom Deery, and the entire Winnercomm production group for an awesome 2007 television season. I thank you all for letting a tried and true "sprint car guy" come in and enter a world in which some will never experience. I am eternally grateful for the oppurtunity in which you gave me. You don't know how much it meant to me to just have that one chance to show the world what I could do. I wish Bobby, Brad, and the whole production crew a safe and exciting year in 2008. Thanks to all the fans out there. It sounds funny to even say that. I am a fan and a normal dude, what the f**k am I talking about. Anyways, I really thought it was cool when I went to the Grove and a lot of the "Posse" fans came up to me and gave me props on a job well done. "You are a real guy, and you keep it real," they all said. The cool folks at Skagit who went out of there way to walk up and shake hands. I have to give it up to my home state of California. The Gold Cup at Chico was bad to bone. I never had so many strangers walk up to me and want a hand shake, a photo, or to just say "hey!" I know I don't have to tell you when I say sprint car people are special. Sprint car racing is special. That is what makes it so great. FUJIMO - RRR

03.10.08 -- Attention Race Car Drivers. I know a lot of you that check out this site are racers. How many of you are covered in case you crash hard and get hurt? Are you covered? Do you have money to get fixed? It is no laughing matter. A lot of race car drivers today are taking the smart steps to make sure they are covered. A lot of you are working guys that race on the weekends. A lot of racers crash, get hurt, and have to pay thousands of dollars in medical bills. It takes a big hit to the racing program when this happens. Do not blow this off. Check out STIDA.com STIDA stands for "Short Track Independent Dirvers and Associates." It is designed for you. It was invented to help the working man and racer just like you. Visit STIDA.com and check it out. All of you make the right steps in safety, good helmet, firesuit, ect. Getting covered by STIDA is just one more way to make sure you are safe.

03.10.08 -- I have to give it up to my buddy Brent Sexton. He won the California Lightning Sprint race at Perris this past Saturday night. It was a special win as he lost his grandmother Friday night.

You gotta see the video below of Tim Kaeding this past weekend in Chico. Crazy man!

03.10.08 -- What a weekend of racing. First things first. I have to say congrats to Ventura Raceway 360 sprint car racer John Nock on his first career main event win. John and his father show up each week to Ventura on an open trailer. It was awesome to see them get their first win. Also congrats to Jeremy Sherman on his ASCS wingless win at Manzy.

It doesn't get any sweeter that this. Father and son race team, open trailer, little Craftsmen toolbox, awesome.

The "Shermanator" Jeremy Sherman scores his 96th career main event win.

03.10.08 -- Don't forget to check out video highlights of this past weekend's CRA action from Perris. Jeff's footage is right here!

03.10.08 -- Without a doubt, this is the "Photo of the Week!" It seems a lot of sprint car fans love Tony Jones and HATE USAC. Go figure....

03.07.08 -- Here is some classic crank calls by Lee Roy Mercer. Tony Stewart and Jeff Hammond get owned!

This is one of the funniest videos I've ever seen! Watch for the little baby laughing. Sure to brighten your crappy day!

03.03.08 -- This clip from the 1971 Indy 500 is out of control! Some of you may may remember this, but a lot of you have probably NEVER seen this footage.

03.03.08 -- I am not real big on drifting or rc cars. But the video below blows my mind. Really cool video and camera angles. It is so cool to live in a time of technology.

03.03.08 -- This past weekend I went to the Supercross event in Indianapolis. It is always an awesome event. Supercross is a harsh reminder of how behind the times we are as far as promoting the sport of sprint and midget racing. Supercross has it locked! Racing begins at 7:30pm and ends at 10:15pm. We saw a killer show and were there for less than 3 hours. If you have never been it is quality entertainment. Fireworks, LOUD heavy metal music, cool rider introductions that give you goose bumps everytime. It is a show through and through. It does depress me a little after watching a Supercross show and then have to go to an Indiana Sprint Week show and have to deal with bombers, street stocks, modifieds, dry slick rubber down track conditions, and 6 or more hours of butt aching racing. Supercross has their act together and it saddened me to not see USAC have a presence at the third biggest racing event of the year in the state of Indiana. USAC has this whole new plan to market and hit the new young audience. Supercross races are filled with 40,000 people and 85% are 3 to 23 years of age. Not to mention the chicks are amazingly hot! I really can't believe that USAC didn't schedule a field trip to the RCA Dome, bring pen and paper, and start taking notes of how a real show is produced. Am I going overboard and being too hard on the 52 year old sanctioning body? It depends on who you ask. I am just tired of seeing my friends fight an uphill batttle of b.s. just to race. Ok I have aired myself out and now it is time to let the good times roll. Below is a video in which a lot of you will find interesting.

Press play and enjoy the show!

03.01.08 -- The California Racing Association needs to come back and run 410 wingless sprinters in Southern California 2009. Why you ask? Because I heard USAC's new CEO and mastermind Kevin Miller say the words "road courses" and "Silver Crown" in the same sentence during a radio interview the other night. That's right race fans, USAC is pondering running the Silver Crown cars on road courses in the years to come. I love the racing in USAC. It has the best racers hands down. Please do your part to not let people like this decide your racing fate. Sincerely, a sprint a midget fan for 30 years.........

03.01.08 -- We at Jackslash are proud to announce Wright Motor Company as a new advertiser! If you are in the market of buying a new vehicle you need to talk to Eldon Wright with Wright Motor Company. Check out their site at the top of this page!

03.01.08 -- One of our Jackslash supporters from home is "Bullet" Blake Miller. Blake scored a big Vegas win Thursday night during CRA action. Blake is driving a really bitchen creation built by the Gardner clan. Below is Blake in victory lane.

When you buy your Simpson suit, ask for the Jackslash on it!

Below is "Hollyood" Luis Espinoza showing off his happy Jack.

02.25.08 -- The video below is an instant classic. It was shot about 3 weeks ago in California. It was the weekend of the Perris sprint car opener. It's parties and friends like this that make life so much damn fun. Another cool thing about it is that I can bring it to you and show you ALMOST everything that went down. I can't show you EVERYTHING.

02.25.08
-- Below is a video inspired by winter time blues and sheer boredom. It was shot this weekend. It is fresh right out the oven. Sit back and enjoy the show!

02.25.08 -- I dig people who are creative and who are not afraid to show what their all about. Jimmy Light gonna do you right with this Metallica tribute helmet. Metallica does have an album coming out this year by the way......

02.25.08 -- I am here to tell you that I think Tony Stewart's hair ROCKS! He is truly his own dude and I dig that about him.

I hope it grows past his shoulders!

02.25.08 -- This past weekend I had the chance to catch up. I posted a lot of videos and the lookalikes are up finally. We are going full blown on the lookalikes again. If you have some, send them to me at Sean@Jackslash.com

I flew back to Indy this week from a 2 week West Coast visit. I really miss my homeland. Southern California is awesome in a lot of awesome ways. When the time is right, I will come home. But for now it's cornfields and White Castle. As mentioned before the Perris two night doubleheader was great and so was the Copper on Dirt at Manzy. I was stoked with all four races.

What a difference a week makes. I went from incredible SoCal and Phoenix weather to the snow and ice of Indiana. WTF?

Manzanita Speedway pit area taken from turn three. This was taken from the 2nd story of Slash HQ in Indy.

02.18.08 -- Hello everyone and hope your all having a happy Monday. If your not, maybe highlights of the Copper on Dirt will turn your frown upside down. Please keep in mind that these highlights were made possible by our good friend Dean Mills of MVP Productions. If it wasn't for Dean, USAC racing would rarely show highlights on SPEED. So if you see "Millsy" at the track, go up and shake his hand and say hi. You can also purchase videos of National USAC events at www.millsvideoproductions.com

02.17.08 -- The 2nd Annual Copper on Dirt at Manzanita Speedway was kick ass! The track stayed in great shape all day (and night) It had two distinct grooves and from the words of Ron Shuman, "That's all you can ask for is two grooves." The race indeed had everything you could ask for. Drama, crashes, great racing, the works! The funniest thing I heard yesterday was a comment about USAC's new drug testing policy. USAC stated that if they sense anyone is using drugs, that driver is subjected to a drug test. Well Darren Hagen's sprint car heat race was a wild one. He and Darland shared the front row. After two failed attempts at a start, the starter sent the two racers to the back. Darland was HOT. Under the pace lap Darland stuck is arm out of the car and gave the bird to every USAC official who was actually paying attention. As the race went on, Dave and Darren were battling for the transfer spot off of turn four when Hagen slipped off the bottom. Darland had no place to go and cartwheeled the Massey #2az 9 times down the Manzy front stretch. Dave exited the car right away. Dave was half as mad as his son Trenton. "TMAC" ran the length of the main shoot to Hagen's car.

He was met by a USAC official. Trenton broke through the red, white, and blue to only take one ill fade swipe at Hagen. Trenton was pulled away and was threatened jail time but DD's son stayed at the track keeping a low profile. When it went back to green, Hagen was not done yet. He gave a late race turn 3 slider to Cory Kruseman. Darren made Cory check up and they hooked bumpers with Darren stealing the position. During the post race cool down, Cory pulled alongside Darren showing the Riverside youngster that he thought the move was completely unnecessary. Dave did eventually tell Darren in the pits how he felt about the turn four altercation. After winning the midget feature, Hagen did muster up a public apology to Darland in front of the Manzy bleachers. Now back to that funny comment about USAC drug testing. Since USAC's new drug policy press release, I am not aware of any driver being tested thus far. A fan simply stated, "I know one thing, if USAC is going to take this drug testing seriously, they need to drug test Darren Hagen!" I thought it was funny.

As advertised, I am not for the drug testing PERIOD. Enough of the political bullshit already. Jesse Hockett was the star of the show. He junked his DRC sprinter in his heat. During the break, he rolled out another DRC and pulled the motor with help from Brad and Steve Fox. Hockett started last in the B main and won it. He started outside row 14 in the A main (28th). The Warsaw, Missouri gasser ran that blue #75 to a 4th place finish! It was awesome! Congrats to Shane Cottle on the sprint car win. The Contos #4 is one for one. Brand new car and team looked good and Cottle drove his ass off for the win. Shane was very vocal about the fact that he didn't like the big half when he first saw it a few years ago. Jerry Coons Jr. scored another huge win in front of his home crowd. There was a day when people thought Jerry was the most overrated driver in USAC. He has proved time and time again that he is a badass and is the literally the best in the business. He is not a good racer, he is a great racer.
I hope all the racers who turned over are feeling ok. We had a lot of red flags. I hate red flags for a lot of reasons. It slows the show down and I just don't get any joy watching my friends crash. A wise man once said, "You never want to see anybody flip, but you also never wanna miss one." I would like to thank Steve Dunn at Manzanita Speedway for all his help and support. I cannot wait for next year. Manzy looks better than ever with the new improvements. The whole Manzanita Speedway staff is making a true effort to make the place better.

Here are some photos I took during hot laps at Manzy.
There ain't nothing like dropping a knee on the berm in turn 3!

02.16.08
--
Friday at Manzy was a total washout. It was a very long day at the track. We NEVER saw a car fire or
take to the track all day. From 1pm to 9pm we all stood around. At this time I would like to not speak bad about the "New Series." I would rather entertain you and make you laugh rather than make you mad.

Trent from Southern Indiana checks in with this photo of him in full party trim. Way to represent dude!

02.14.08
-- Jackslash has arrived at Manzy! I went down to practice night and what a sight to see! A full pit area of midgets, sprinters, and dirt champ cars. The track was in good shape. It was good to see the midgets back on the half. They are so much fun to watch at Manzy. The clip below is dedicated to my pals Troy Rutherford and Marty Boyer. Get Well Soon!

(I updated the video size today and it is much smaller and quicker to download)

02.14.08 -- I'm sitting in the Ralph's parking lot on Valentines Day morning and noticed all these dudes coming out of the store with flowers, roses, candy, everything else they could get their little hands on. In the video below, I break it down for you.

02.13.08 -- Honest to god....It still brings a smile to my face everytime when I see a Jackslash t-shirt in the crowd. This one was worn by a Kunz Motorsports crewman in Tulsa.

02.13.08 -- Our New Zealand pal Andrew poses with the Joey Saldana Down Under. It is photos like this that make the Jackslash Nation stronger and stronger each day! If you have photos of yourself wearing our gear, send them to me and I will post them right here for everyone to see!

Jackslash is worldwide and we are truly proud of it!

02.13.08 -- USAC is seriously thinking hard about drug testing their racers. Good thinking USAC. Nearly everybody hates you already, you promote the fact that you send your best, young, talented racers to NASCAR. If you start banning racers for drugs, you might not have anyone left to race. Heroine, Crack, Cocaine, and Meth are all bad and we know this. Banning racecar drivers for smoking a little weed is totally lame. You look back on all the great sprint and midget racers over the years. There are and were many great racers (including Hall of Famers) that smoked weed from time to time. You hardcores know exactly who did and who does puff a joint every now and then. If you don't know then you are completely uneducated. I'll have you know that many of today's top sprint car racers smoke weed and it does not hurt their ability to do their job. God damn it, sprint car and midget racing is not NASCAR. NASCAR is NASCAR. How come the World of Outlaws, All Stars, ASCS, and every other sprint and midget series can go about their business and put on good shows for the fans without the bullshit that USAC seems to always dish out. Here is the deal, quit worrying about image this and image that. Put on good shows for the fans and keep doing time and time again. I don't want to hear we have this deal in the works or this or that. My friends and I want to go racing. We all want to be treated fare. Us fans want to see the best wingless racers in the country doing what they do on the best tracks in the country. No I do not smoke weed. Yes I have a lot of friends that do. If you start drug testing your racers USAC, don't be surprised if they pack up and move to Ohio and start running with a wing!

02.13.08 -- 360 wingless sprint car racing is a big part of our scene in Southern California. Check out the 360 Nationals highlights from Perris here!

02.11.08 -- My good friend Jeff from Raceway Video is back with two nights of USAC/CRA action. Come get some

02.11.08 -- My Southern California trip back home started on my brother Derek's birthday February 7th. Happy 28th Birthday "Cran." "Dirty Danita" and "Taboo" picked me up from the airport in Orange County and the fun began from there. Friday night we went to Perris for the 360 wingless and USAC/CRA show. Friday night sprint car racing in Southern California is rare to say the least. I can honestly tell you that I cannot remember EVER racing sprint cars on a Friday night in Southern California(other than the Oval Nationals.) The crowd was sparse. I think I actually saw a tumble weed blow through the grandstands. For those not in attendance missed some good racing. Most people in Southern California LOVE the 410's. They adore the "Ripper", "Showtime Sheridan,"  "Cowboy Tony Jones," ect. But the 360 guys seem to get a cold shoulder. It seems the majority of the Perris crowd are 410 wingless elitists. I think that is a shame. Most of the 360 racing in American that I have seen, whether it be with a wing or not is good if not better than a 410 show. It appears that the 360 crew is more ragged, not as refined, and unpredictable. I like these characteristics in a driver! It makes for some real entertainment. The overall vibe I get from the fans about 360 racing is it's not "Rip", or "Kruseman." It's time to open that racing mind people and enjoy a good sprint car racing no matter the engine size.

30,000 feet in the air flying the Jackslash Express!

Some observations about the weekend at Perris goes like this. The USAC/CRA series is making that turn. Rip Williams is the last remaining fulltime "Old Skooler." Kirby, Cline, Ostling, English, Shuman, are gone. Kruseman started in '93 technically and is still winning. But the tide has finally shifted. Sheridan, Miller, Spencer, Cardey, Johnson, and Ford have made a name for themselves as the new crop to carry the torch for the West Coast. 7 years ago I worried about when the day would finally come when all the hero's I grew up with would retire. I thought 410 wingless racing would come to a screeching halt when they hung it all up. Need not to worry. Because Spencer, Cardey, Ford, Johnson, Miller, have it covered.

CRA's new batch of hero's. David Cardey (red hat) Tyler Brown (left) Mike Spencer (right) pose with Diva "Kinky Karen."

I have to thank Scott Dalosio, Tanner Watson, and the entire Perris Auto Speedway crew for a great weekend of racing. As soon as I saw that they booked a 2 night 360/410 wingless weekend to open their season, I knew I had to fly out and see the show. I am glad I did! It was everything I expected, good racing at a great track with great race car drivers.

02.04.08 -- This is what Chili Bowl and racing is all about. Good looking chicks, good looking racecars, and good friends to share it all with! Driver Jimmy Light stands with the Night Trips ladies, Brent Sexton (right) and Mark Deskovick of Sprint Mart on the left.

02.04.08 -- Ever wonder where all those Jackslash stickers come from? They come from Mike at QuickerStickers.com in California. He is a homie from "way wack." Below is a photo of him pimping Jackslash in Seoul, Korea!

Mike taking time out of his busy day in Korea for us!

02.04.08 -- "Fatty Patty" made a huge splash at this years Chili Bowl! Look for "Fatty" at a track near you....

In the world of Jackslash, this is what we call a good time.

02.04.08 -- Jackslash is packing his suitcase and heading home!!! That's right "Jackslashers," I am heading out to California this week for the Perris 360 and USAC/CRA wingless weekend. Two divisions of wingless sprinters! How can you pass that up? I am looking forward to it. I hate saying lame shit like this but........I will let you in on a little secret Thursday evening Or Friday morning. We have something fun planned for all of you this weekend! We always try and "out do" ourselves and I honestly can say it will be one for the ages. Stay tuned!!!

The "Divas" in full effect in victory lane with David Cardey!

02.04.08 -- What a weekend! Went to the DOWN show in Indy and it rocked our asses off! There was 8 of us in our group. Now that I think of it, we had all racers with us. We had a couple ladies too. But I was thinking about something. I don't like to name drop. I like stats. In our DOWN party, we had the newly crowned Chili Bowl Champion (Damion Gardner), the 2007 Dick Gaines Memorial winner (Jimmy Light), 2007 Gas City and Putnamville Champion (Billy Puterbaugh). That was for you hard cores! One of the coolest things that happened during the night was when we all excited the LIMO in front of the venue. I step out of the stretch and here a loud "JACKSLASH" from the long line of black t-shirted DOWN fans awaiting entrance. It was wild to say the least! Here I am taking in a concert with my friends and some dude in line had the audacity to yell "Jackslash!" For a moment I actually felt like someone! Until we walked to the back of the long line with the rest of the commoners. (That's how I like it) It was a great show and I advise anyone who enjoys the sound of drums and riffing guitars to go see DOWN! Here are are a couple pics of us from deep inside the LIMO. Photo 1 and Photo 2

02.04.08 -- Jeff Kristensen is back with a new clip of "practice day" from Perris. This is some good internet people! Enjoy!

David and the "Divas" 2008 poster will be out this Spring!
