What
happened in my world this weekend....
Friday afternoon I headed over to Hockett's shop.
Since Paragon went so well the week prior, Jesse was
hired to drive the Indy Race Parts # 71 at
Bloomington. Things were going well when I mentioned
to Bernie (in the pits) that I think we need to put
the left rear back on the car and roll the car in
the trailer because we are about to get hit with a
severe storm. We did. The key to Friday was leaving
the shop at 4:15pm and arriving at the track at
5:30pm. I like this idea. Why get to the track
early? What is the point? It's hot in Indiana and
boring. No need for excessive jaw jacking.
The only crew chief in
the country that owns 11 wingless wins in 2008 has a
Jackslash Shirt on. Saturday was
good. I hitched with the Eckert clan as we zigged
and zagged through virtually every country road on
our way to Haubstadt. I didn't know Indiana had
pinetrees. Who knew? Gray's Cafeteria is a great
stop to eat while traveling south in Indiana. Great
food and service. Here is a tip for buffet style
eating. Drink water not soda.
We still keep finding
Jackslasher's in all corners of the universe.
Tri State Speedway in Haubstadt lies in
some serious badass
countryside. When your eyelids
get heavy, just sleep.
There is a time to
be crazy and there is a time to roll up your sleeves and do
work. Over the years here on Jackslash we have had our good
times that's for sure. The video above shows the fun side.
It shows all the smiles and fun that we all have. I hate to
say this but 95% of the fun and excitement happens at home
in California and not in the midwest?? Why? I think it is
time for the ladies of the midwest to step up their game.
